Cap' n Baldy here ... we continue with our Budapest adventure ...
The magnificent Matthias Church ... coronation church for Hungarian kings ... we shall sing our first concert here in a few hours!
Under this art structure next to the Matthias Church, we sing "Amazing Grace" ... the words "lost but now am found, blind but now I see" will shortly prove to be prophetic!
Our upcoming concert is well-advertised!
Beautiful medieval buildings on Royal Castle Hill ...
Cap 'n Baldy appreciates the work of Gypsy musicians!
I get LOST ... that's right ... LOST! I lose sight of Goldilocks (Barbara) and the rest of our tour group and I get totally lost for a long time! I walk down switchbacks to the Chain Bridge, then up over cobblestones and many stair steps to the top of Fisherman's Bastion, ending up near where our tour bus dropped us off! Eventually, I am found by Jared and Gabor and rejoin the tour ...
Now, I don't GET LOST! Only stupid, clueless and selfish idiots get lost so as to disrupt a tour! NEVER ME! Y'all might now surmise that this up-to-the-present-moment attitude seems just a bit ... contemptuous and ARROGANT? Am I right?
I hear The Lord Jesus say to me, "how's that attitude workin' out for you, Bob?"
I answer the Lord, saying "not too well, I'm afraid!"
Then I hear Him say "let's try something NEW here!"
I am chastened... and rightly so! I was blind and now I see! Thank You, God!
Lunch at a cool bistro near our hotel ...
Goldilocks has her first European salad at this bistro ... grilled smoked cottage cheese and baked apple slices atop mixed vegetables and cashew nuts... lots of paprika ... looks strange to me but she says it tastes good! Time for a nap!!
The interior of Matthias Church... our evening concert is an inspiring experience for us and for a very appreciative audience! What an honor it is for us to sing here! Our inspired young director, Liz Virkler, does a brilliant job conducting our tour choir. The experience is so powerful that I can find no words to describe it! We have a late dinner of Chicken Paprika at the hotel and will be on the road early tomorrow morning!
THE TENORS ...ready for the gig ... me and Ol' Tom ... Tom Haley, that is!
Stay with us, beloveds ... there is a lot more to come!
Affectionately,
Baldy aka Bob
